Marigolds have been cultivated the world over for their showy, bright flowers.  They have been used in religious festivals, and also as a natural dye source.  Marigold has moderate light fastness.  Almost every variety of marigold can be used for dyeing.

Marigolds can be used to dye vibrant yellows, orange/yellows and greens.  Use a ¼tsp  of iron with the marigold, in the same pot, or as an afterbath, for a nice olive green.
