Acacia is commonly known as wattle.  Wattle is a member of the Acacia genus of shrubs and trees and is used in leather tanning, as it is a rich source of tannins. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e It is used to create tans, grays and blacks with the addition of iron, and used alone it gives a beige with a pinkish tone.
