I purchased this iron for myself from a natural dye company that serves commerical natural dye companies around the world. \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Iron (ferrous sulfate) is called copperas. It will sadden or darken colors, bringing out green shades.  Iron can be added to the dye bath directly or used as a post-dye bath to change the color.   \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Iron works very well for turning yellows from many common plants, green, or turning reds to burgundies or purples.   \u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003e Too much iron can make wool brittle.  Iron can be used in small amounts with cotton or wool, but is not recommended for silk.
