It is a nice thick, extra soft and fine fluffy roving that is extra silky feeling to the touch and to spin because of that superwash processing. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e Superwashed wool allows you to be able to launder this wool and dye this wool without fear of it felting.  The superwash process removes and\/or covers the scales on the wool fibers that cause the wool to felt when water temperature is changed when washing or dyeing the wool, or it is agitated in warm water.   \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e Superwash processed wool and yarn dyes up a little differently because the dyes tend to strike deeply and immediately where they are placed on the wool.  You will tend to get deeper, concentrated, distinctly placed dye results when you dye superwash wool.  This is why you see that a lot of the intensely speckle dyed wool yarns available are dyed on superwash wool base yarn.   \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e I have enjoyed dyeing and spinning superwash Merino wool.  It has a silkiness to the softness that is enjoyable to feel as you spin, as well as enjoyable to feel when knitted up and worn. \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e Superwash Wool does not work for water or needle felting because the scales are removed or covered that help the wool fibers interlock when being felted.   \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e  \u003cbr\u003e This dyes beautifully and drafts and spins like butter!
